Description/Job Summary

  • The successful candidate will plan, administer and design small to medium size transportation or site civil projects
  • Perform roadway and/or traffic design tasks as a member of design team for local, arterial and interstate roadways
  • Manage design staff as lead engineer on project tasks
  • Establish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure  client objectives are met
  • Responsible for marketing, writing proposals, winning work, maintaining and developing key client relationships
  • Participate in client-rich professional organizations and functions
  • Train and mentor young professionals
  • BSCE required
  • OR PE required; licenses in other states a plus
  • 4+ years engineering experience (P4) or 10+ years engineering experience (P5) with a background in transportation and/or site civil design, including a combination of roadway, traffic, storm water, irrigation design and utility relocations.
  • A minimum of 3 year experience managing tasks, small projects and professional staff.
  • Solid understanding of civil design and construction standards, and environmental conditions / constraints.
  • Must possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
  • Demonstrated skills developing relationships with municipal, county and state agencies in support of transportation and/or site civil projects
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrology modeling and MS software applications (including MS Project); Microstation and Inroads a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff and management
  • Adaptability and ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Candidate must possess a valid Oregon State Driver’s License; must be able to meet company insurability requirements.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25%
